One of the most uniquely experienced consultant and speaker in the expert’s industry, Robert Roots is a former New York City undercover police officer, Coral Gables, Fl police officer, adjunct college professor, author, life coach, entrepreneur and philanthropist who started out life with the odds stacked against him.
Raised with his three siblings in an impoverished New York City public housing project by their divorced Cuban mother, who herself was a foster child, Robert Roots learned early in life how to overcome obstacles, avoid the negative influences of peer pressure, and how to set and achieve goals with little to no resources.
Leveraging the knowledge from his personal and professional life experiences, Robert has provided service, training, consulting and educational products to Fortune 100 corporations, small businesses, sales professionals, multilevel marketers, entrepreneurs, faith based organizations, families, schools, colleges and youth based organizations.

Robert Roots is author of the successful book Prepare for the Wolf (2002) now updated for its 10th Anniversary with the foreword by world renown author and motivational speaker, Les Brown and titled, Success Secrets from The Three Little Pigs (2012) and Child Support is more than Money (2012).
Robert is also a contributing writer to the anthology, Souls of my Brothers (2003) featuring other notables including Mayor Willie Brown, Dr. Sampson Davis, music mogul’s LA Reid, Bryan Williams, Howard Hewitt, Busta Rhymes and the late Isaac Hayes. Robert’s contribution, “Can a Woman Raise a Man?” which was based on his personal experience garnered outstanding media reviews for encouraging fathers to be actively involved in the lives of their children.
Dedicated to helping youth succeed, Robert Roots found an after school program, Writer’s Playhouse, in Liberty City, Miami to teach students how to succeed in and outside of the school environment. The program which operated from 2003 to 2008 served hundreds of students, published 4 books written by the students and helped the school increase its school grade as determined by the State of Florida from a “C” to an “A.”
A consultant to the 4th largest school district in the country, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, in 1998, Robert was retained to write The Career Day Guide. The guide was developed to create a uniformed procedural operation for the school district and ensure consistency and safety among the 400 schools participating in Career Day events throughout the school year.
Robert Roots is a divorced father with four beautiful children. His oldest child, Rob, is also a professional speaker and author of Falling Isn’t Failing! The Five Keys to Overcoming Obstacles and Achieving Success for Youth and Young Adults (2011).
